Kane Brown stopped to chat with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on the red carpet at the 2019 American Music Awards on Sunday, discussing balancing his career with being a father, his upcoming tour, what advice he would give to a new artist and what new music he’s been working on.
Asked how parenthood has been so far, Brown tells Billboard, “It’s been amazing. It sucks being away from her right now. Her and my wife’s at home so I wish they were here. I love you baby. So yeah, I’m just ready to get back home to them.”
Brown also reveals that while he can’t bring his baby on his European tour, he does plan to bring her along for his other tour dates. “We have a new bus and we’re gonna to put a crib on it,” he says. “And she’ll be everywhere with me.”

In light of Taylor Swift’s recent battle with her former record label regarding the rights to her music, Brown is asked what advice he would give to a younger artist just starting out in the industry. “I would just make sure, if you get into the game just make sure you read over your contracts and you have a team that you can trust and that loves you as a person and not just money,” he replies.
As for new music, Brown reveals that he’s been working on some new material and that he’s really excited about it. “I got a song called ‘Worldwide Beautiful’ — this is also my tour name,” he shares. “It’s a song about meaning.
