After 10 weeks of challenges, competition, and constructive criticism from judges Olga Tañon, Natti Natasha, and Joss Favela, Univision’s Reina de la Canción has come to an end, crowning Yennis Bencosme as the new “Queen of the Song.”
The all-female singing reality show kicked off Sunday night (Nov. 24) with Natti Natasha performing her heartfelt “La Mejor Version de Mi” in bachata. Her set was followed by a power battle, where the four finalists—Vikina Lopez (Cuba/Ecuador), Navil Rox (Puerto Rico), Yennis Bencosme (Cuba) and Fatima Poggi (Peru)—poured their hearts out in a challenge called “Yo Lo Canto Mejor” (I sing it better).
One of the highly-awaited moments of the night was when the executive producer and the finale’s fourth judge Daddy Yankee sang “Que Tire Pa’ Lante,” putting the entire audience, including the judges, on their feet.

Shortly after, host Alejandra Espinoza unveiled the third runner-up, announcing La Vikina as the first finalist to abandon the competition. Despite the results, the Miami-based artist walked away with $10,000, which she says she will use to invest in her music career.
The remaining finalists had the opportunity to share the stage with three of the hottest Latin artists of the moment. Poggi sang “Claro y Obvio” with Favela, Navil teamed up with Cazzu for “Mucha Data,” and Yennis joined forces with Tañon for a tropical medley of “Muchacho Malo” and “Es Mentiroso.”
After a short commercial break, urbana powerhouse Navil Rox was announced as second finalist, walking away with $15,000.
After more surprises, including musical performances by Christian Nodal and Danna Paola, it was time for the winner to be announced. Aspiring finalists Fatima and Yennis anxiously waited for the final verdict as the host revealed Yennis the 2019 Reina de la Cancion, who bagged many prizes including $50,000 and a contract with Sony Music Latin.
