(Billboard) – JoJo continues the vulnerable spirit her fans love in her smooth new track, “Sabotage.”
The tune, which features CHIKA, sees the singer reflecting on her past loves, wondering what the pattern is to her bad luck. “Everytime I hear them talking ’bout you/I wonder did I play myself/And sabotage love?” she asks in the chorus.
“A lot of people self-sabotage… I tend to do it in romantic relationships,” JoJo said in a statement. “And I think most of it roots to fear – fear of being inadequate, fear of getting hurt, fear of rejection, fear of not measuring up… This song is about asking a lot of questions, dealing with shame and embarrassment, and really just owning up to certain patterns.”

“Sabotage” follows previously-released single “Joanna,” marking the songstress’ first new music since signing with Warner Records earlier this year through a joint venture with her own Clover Music.
